Mekong Palm Wine

Nothing like an impulse buy, Mekong Sparkling Natural Palm Sap wine.
It’s hard to conceal that we had the tasting pre dinner in our semi dingy hotel, #confirmedbudget
Maple on the nose!!! Oak buttery notes like a barrel aged Chardonnay, but not a hint of vitis vinifera here. The complexity however is not lacking with a foggy ripe fruit profile of lychee, pineapple and peach and a woody maple expanding finish. Thank to it sparkle it stays refreshingly far from a heavy fermented sap drink, and more like a Spanish Cava.
Resiliency: 6/10 Nice complex flavor and only 8% alc. but the high sugar content bars day long drinks.
Affordability: 5/10 3$ for 200ml in Cambodia is quite expensive, especially compared to the home made product sold in plastic bottles. Turns out tourist is the target demographic.
Cannabis Pairability: 9/10 Tropical fruit and maple flavors alongside carbonation are begging to be paired with some Cambodian Landrace.
Dopeness: 7/10
