Legend Beer in the Hanoi Old Quarter.

Legend Beer, microbrews in the Hanoi Old Quarter.

*not actual location. Just pretty ol’ streets of Hanoi.

Lager, Orange and citrus flavor with a definite texture to the grain. Starts very sweet, then sour before ending sweet. It has a slight moisture sapping affect like an underripe persimmon that adds complexity on the really long finish.
Dunkel or Black beer, tastes a lot like a stout with a light tastes color. However compares to a stout’s normal vanilla malt creaminess the Dunkel is like hot chocolate made with water rather than milk.
Resiliency: 6/10 Solid but seeing what people can do with lagers in this country I’m more interested in the vibrant eccentricity of Bia Hoi.

Affordability: 5/10 Tourist Trap alert! Compared to their other locations the beer is expensive ~2$ which then compared to Bia Hoi is insanity!

Cannabis Pairability: 8/10 Try with a citrus heavy strain to amplify the Orange note in the lager or a deep earthy (maybe landrace?) strain to give the Dunkel a bit more richness and depth.

Dopeness: 6.5/10.
