Organic Bolaven Plateau Coffee, Pakse District, Laos
A medium light roast, it could almost be an under extracted Indonesian. It has earthy, chocolate, smokey notes that expand on the horizon of the pallet. You can sense the complexity of the acid that lies somewhere in the fringes of the cup but it’s a little to thin to fully tell. It’s awesome to have the opportunity to taste coffee right where it’s grown and Laos definitely has some great arabica.
Resiliency: 8/10 A sublime breakfest when paired with a fruit salad at Fandee Guesthouse in Ban Saenvang Village (I.e. Tad Lo)
Affordability: 9/10 Far superior to generic Laos coffee, it is definitely! worth a slightly hight price tag.
Cannabis Pairability: 8/10 The Bolaven Plateau is not Vang Vieng so please be respectful! That being said, wake n bake with this arabica and a dip in the river is the stuff of dreams.
